Quick Bio:
I was raised as a Navy brat and never really settled into any one place. After graduating high school, I moved out on my own, and kept moving around, though I mostly stayed on the East Coast. In 2006, I moved out to Colorado, a choice made by opening a map with my eyes closed and pointing. I completed a double BA in 2013, moved back to the East Coast to be with my gentleman, and completed an MS in 2017 while working full-time.
Why this blog?
Back in 2010, I took a trip to Russia (hence why all the beginning posts are about Russia...), and since there's a 7-hour time difference between the East Coast and Russia, it made communication with my family a little difficult. On my father's request, I started this blog to keep them informed of what was going on over there. I stopped when I got back, since I felt I had nothing further to tell.
Then in early 2011, my life went through a lot of ups and downs. I got married, moved in, it went downhill, and we got it annulled (that's the super-short version, naturally). Once again, my father asked me to start writing for insight as to what was going on with me. After a while, I realized that it was pretty fun to write my stories down, rather than telling them and then forgetting them, and eventually I added little sketches into the mix.
While working on my Master's, work plus school ate all of my free time, so I didn't update much. Once that finished, however, I realized I'd gotten used to filling my free time with productive things, so updates are still a bit sporadic and focused more on what I'm doing rather than what I'm thinking.

What is the goal of this?
I'm not sure I have one. I enjoy telling stories, and if they can help someone else get through the day a little more easily, all to the better. Also, my older sister died in 2011, and it was pretty neat being able to go back through the stories and pictures that she had written about her life, and see the passion and joy that she had while still alive. I would like to provide that opportunity for those left whenever I go.
